With the Summer heat hitting its peak, get out of the city and come get wet in Minakami!

Minakami - in winter a snow lovers paradise, in summer an outdoor enthusiasts heaven. Summer in Minakami means, rafting, canyoning, bungy, hiking, swimming, bbqing or just getting out of the city and chilling out in beautiful natural surroundings.

Rafting is an amazing way to experience the beautiful rivers of Minakami where over 12kms of whitewater rafting adventure awaits. There are a number of different courses available to cater for all levels, from beginners to experienced rafting addicts. For even more thrills in the river its a great time of year to go canyoning. Jumping waterfalls, cascading down natural chutes and swimming in crystal clear pools - with 80% of the time spent in the water a canyoning tour is a very fun way to get wet!

If its an instant adrenalin rush that you're after look no further than the Minakami Bungy Bridge Jump! Check out the photos from our trip to Minakami last year to get an idea of what this is all about.

After a refreshing day outdoors we will be having a group BBQ by the river near the Canyons Alpine Cafe and continue partying on into the night with live music and DJs at Canyons.

On Sunday as well as rafting, canyoning and bungy adventure options we will also be taking the TSC bus 5min. down the road to the base of the towering Mt. Tanigawadake. The mountain features a great day hike which we will begin after catching the ropeway to the base of the ski resort. It is then an easy to moderate hike/trek with some slightly more diffcult climbing sections to navigate on the way. The breathtaking 360 deg. views at the top make it all worthwhile!

Canyons - TSC Minakami Summer 2010 Trip

We will be staying at a Ryokan that features a 24 hour natural hot spring - perfect for soothing your post adventure (or partying) muscles. For those who need even more of an onsen fix, we will be stopping at the awesome Takaragawa Outdoor Onsen before returning to Tokyo. Takaragawa is a world class indoor/outdoor onsen in a beautiful natural setting.
