With the winter well under way its time to head up to the snowy paradise of Minakami for the annual live music festival - Snow Splash! Powder inna day, louder inna night - Snow Splash brings an amazing lineup of local and international performers to Minakami each year - with two stages running simultaneously, great food and drinks and loads of entertainment right through to sunrise.

Every year Canyons and Outdoor Japan (Snow Splash Organisers) bring out amazing international and local acts for the event with past performers including Kora (NZ), Shapeshifter (NZ), EKD and more. Snow Splash Minakami 2010

Minakami is an all season adventure and onsen resort town, famous for its excellent white water rafting and canyoning during the summer and for its abundant snowfall during winter. Minakami has many natural hot springs and there are also several different ski resorts in the area. On Saturday, we will ski/board at Okutone Ski Resort (or soak in a local Onsen if you feel like relaxing) and on Sunday we will head to Houdaigi Ski Resort.

Okutone is a medium sized, fun resort featuring a range of different courses for all levels and an impressive snow park. On Sunday we will be skiing/boarding at Houdaigi, the biggest resort in the Minakami area. Houdaigi has a wide range of fun and interesting courses for all levels and is reknowned for its great snow conditions and incredible views of the surrounding mountain ranges. There is a large snow park and several steep runs for the advanced as well as many long, wide and easy slopes for beginners/intermediates.

Takaragawa Onsen is an onsen village made up of several large outdoor hotsprings nestled either side of a river in a beautiful valley. The natural scenery is amazing and until recently wild bears ventured down the mountain to soak in the hot waters. Relaxing in the soothing hotsprings and taking in the natural scenery at Takaragawa is a great way to finish up an action packed Snow Splash weekend!

The Plan

Saturday 22nd January
07:00am	Meet in Shinjuku. All aboard the TSC Bus! Watch movies, chat with old and new friends and get excited! Stop to stretch and grab snacks along the way
11:30am approx.	Arrive in Minakami and check into the Hotel
12:00pm ~ 16:30pm	Skiing/Snowboarding or trip to local Onsen.
16:30pm ~ 18:30pm	Soak in the hotel onsen. Relax with a cold drink
18:30pm ~ 05:00am	Head out to Snow Splash, catch some great live music and party until late! Dinner available at the event.

Sunday 23rd January
07:00am	Wake up. Did you sleep??
07:30am ~ 08:30am	Breakfast in the hotel restaurant
08:30am ~ 14:30pm	Board the TSC bus for a trip to Houdaigi Ski Resort. Skiing/Snowboarding all day
14:30pm ~ 16:00pm	Trip to Takaragawa Onsen. Soak your post-ski/board muscles in the hot waters
16:00pm	Board the bus for the trip back to Tokyo
21:00pm approx.	Arrive back in Shinjuku. Refreshed after a great weekend! Remember to swap contact details with the people you met!!

Reservations are for Club Members only but if you have a friend who wants to come theres no worries just get them to join up as a member for free on the website first

The hotel is a Japanese Style hotel and is 4-7 people per room. Of course, groups of friends can stay in the same room! Males and females will be allocated to separate rooms, unless you're coming in a mixed group and you prefer to share. Let us know your preferences by email or on the reservation form.

There is only space on the buses for 90 people and these spaces will go to those who book first. This Club Trip will book out well before the trip date so if you are keen to come the earlier you reserve a space the better!
