FIRST TRAAAAACKS!!! Its what you scream when when the lifties open up a lift for the first time that day and youre right there waiting or when you duck under the ropes - just for a little - after its been snowing all morning or when you jump face first into a huge powdery lump of snow on the way back to your hotel after partying at First Tracks 2012!

This season's First Tracks event is being held at Tracks Bar on the Goryu/47 side of Hakuba. We will be staying right by the venue within easy walk to the ski fields (in fact you can ski back to the hotel!) and the party venue. We will be skiing/boarding at two interconnected resorts during the Saturday/Sunday and on the Monday you can choose to ski/board at any of the 8 different resorts in the Hakuba area. This is the only long weekend of the snow season with a national holiday falling on the monday so we will be leaving Tokyo on the Friday night to make sure we get in three full days in the snow.

Hakuba First Tracks 2012

Last tracks of the day - Hakuba 2011

First Tracks is an annual live music/DJ party to celebrate the start of the peak snow season. Each year the event features great local and international bands and DJs and is a very fun way to meet and party with other snow lovers from all over Japan and the world. With First Tracks happening on the Saturday night and loads of bars/izakayas/clubs etc to explore on the Sunday night there's lots of opportunity for those who like to keep the action going after coming off the mountain!

Hakuba Ski Board at First Tracks

Ok! Now time to go down... - Hakuba First Tracks 2011

We will be staying at the base of the awesome Hakuba Goryu, a large resort that is connected at the top to Hakuba 47. You can ride/ski at both resorts in the same day using the lift pass that is included. Goryu and 47 are two resorts with something for everyone. The lower courses at Goryu are super wide making them perfect for beginners and low-intermediates to freshen up their skills. The higher you go the more opportunities there are for steepness with several black runs as well as some great tree and off-piste areas for the more adventurous.

Hakuba 47 features some of the best intermediate level course around - lots of wide and scenic trails that are very well connected by the lifts. Hakuba 47 also features one of the best parks around - worth a look even if your not into the snow park scene as you are more than likely to catch some action from various Japanese pro-snowboarders and skiiers here.

Its going to be a fun-packed long weekend up in Hakuba - hope you can join us for First Tracks 2012!
