Our annual Jan 3 day weekend trip to celebrate the start of the peak Japan snow season. Shiga Kogen is by far Japans biggest ski resort area with over 20 interconnected ski resorts all accessible with the one lift pass. The high altitude means consistently great snow conditions and with over 80kms of courses and 70 lifts the resort is great for all levels of skiier/boarder. Shiga Kogen is also famous for the onsen bathing snow monkeys!

THE PLAN

2013 Jan 11 (Friday)

19:30 Meet in Shinjuku. Get on the bus. Depart Shinjuku. Stop for a rest/snack break along the way. 00:00 Arrive in Shiga Kogen. Check into the Hotel. Sleep or late night Onsen.

2013 Jan 12 (Saturday)

07:00am Wake up! 07:30am ~ 08:30am Breakfast in the hotel restaurant 08:30am ~ 17:00pm Get out there early and Ski / Snowboard all day. 17:00pm ~ 18:30pm Soak in the hotel onsen. Relax with a cold drink 18:30pm ~ 20:00pm Dinner in the hotel restaurant 20:00pm ~ late Monkey Fever party! DJs, giveaways, dancing, good times! Also 1 hour of all you can drink is included in the price

2013 Jan 13 (Sunday)

07:00am Wake up (if you can...) 07:30am ~ 08:30am Breakfast in the hotel restaurant 08:30am ~ 17:00pm Skiing and Snowboarding all day! 17:00pm ~ 18:30pm Soak in the hotel onsen. Relax in your room or hotel lounge. 18:30pm ~ 20:00pm Dinner in the hotel restaurant 20:00pm ~ late Group Party in the hotel party room and lounge. Good music, good people, good times!

2013 Jan 14 (Monday)

07:00am Wake up 07:30am ~ 08:30am Breakfast in the hotel restaurant 08:30am ~ 15:00pm Skiing and Snowboarding all day - OR Snow Monkey / Beer and Sake Brewery tour 15:00~16:00 Soak in the hotel onsen. Relax with a cold drink 16:00 ~ 20:30 Bus back to Shinjuku.

Free beginner ski and snowboard lessons (9:30am Saturday) Intermediate ski or snowboard lessons (from 3000yen - payable directly to the instructor on the day. Lessons scheduled during the bus trip) Lift pass for use on Monday (+4700yen) Limited private, western style, twin rooms available (+2000yen per person) Extend this trip by 2 nights to visit Nozawa Onsen and the Dosojin Fire Festival
