2009 Dec 13 - Tokyo Snow Club - Hakuba

  Resorts: Iwatake, Happone, Goryu/47 | Members: 90 | Reserve

Snow Splash 2010 - HakubaThe peak of the snow season, huge resorts and an even bigger party! The Snow Splash Hakuba weekend is going to be massive!

Snow Splash is an unmissable annual live music and performance event / party held every year in both Minakami and Hakuba and featuring the best Japanese and International roots, reggae, surf rock, dub, ska, percussion bands and more. Previous Snow Splash events have also included belly dancers, tribal drumming, fire twirlers, skateboard exhibitions, live painting, mechanical bulls and a whole variety of other performance acts that make the event so much more more than just a live music party. Hakuba Happone - Snow Tree

Only 5min from our hotel in the free shuttle bus,  Iwatake Ski Resort is located in front of the highest peak in the Hakuba area. This is one of Hakuba's top spots for rich scenery and its openness makes it a rewarding course. There's a great run called Sunny Valley which is suited for beginners and intermediate level skiers and is 4 km long. Iwatake also has a terrain park suited to beginners and Snow Splash 2010 Hakubaintermediates, as well as lots of accessible tree lines for the more advanced skiiers/boarders. The resort often misses the crowds on powder days, making it possible to still make fresh turns 2 or 3 days after a dump.

Hakuba's Happone is a huge resort, famous for hosting the 1998 winter olympics and the quality of the snow and variety of runs at the resort are second to none. There are runs that will make both skiiers and snowboarders grin ear to ear especially at this time of year when large dumps of snow are the norm. The resort caters for all levels with lots of runs suitable for beginners/intermediates as well as many more challenging runs. For the more adventurous there is also some great powder stashes to be found both on and off piste.

This year's Snow Splash events will be held at the awesome Mominoki Pub and are looking like becoming the best ones yet, with more and more acts being announced all the time. Acts already confirmed for Snow Splash Hakuba include EKD, Volgrooma, Samurai High, Caribbean Dandy DJ's, WET Band Wagon and more.  Check out the Snow Splash website for the latest additions to the lineup.

The Snow Splash weekends are the biggest and best snow parties of the year, hope you can join us!
