Ashikaga – Gearing Up for Summer Festa
21 Jul 2012Ashikaga is a smaller sized `city` located in Tochigi, Japan and is just over the Saitama and Gunma prefectural borders. Ashikaga is home to the beautiful Coco Farm Winery and Vineyard as well as the huge Summer Fireworks Festival which is held on August 4th each year. While the festival is still two weeks away, the locals are gearing up for the huge event with the local school kids contributing hundreds of paintings depicting the fireworks event.
The Coco Farm and Winery is located just on the outskirts of the city. The winery is surrounded by green and produces some of the best wine in Japan. Nothing better than taking a picnic blanket, grabbiing a bottle of wine and some cheese from the Winery and spending the afternoon picnicking amongst the grape vines!
We will be heading to Ashikaga on August 4th this year to visit the Coco Farm Winery, picnic amongst the grape vines and then head onto the incredible Summer Fireworks Festa. There are still a few spaces open on this trip so please sign up asap if you would like to join this fun day event. Details and sign-ups here.
Hope you can join us!
