Yeti Ski Resort near Mt Fuji was the first ski resort to open for the 2012/13 winter season and opened yesterday in a very Japanese way with a cosplay skiing/snowboarding event. Over 300 skiiers/boarders dressed up in outlandish costumes for the opening day. This marks the 14th year in a row that Yeti has been the first resort to open – primarily due to their very sophisticated snow making machinery. Nice weather and newly snow capped Mt Fuji in the background made for a great October day out on the slopes. Looking forward to some more resorts opening up soon!

This was a very popular giveaway with hundreds of people entering some really funny stories. From skiing naked to using the snow to clean their nose – there was some great entries! However this giveaway was not judged on humour but was drawn randomly and the 5 winners are:

1. 田村 – クローズになってしまったゲレンデで友達と埋めあいっこした.

2. Jay – My buddy getting cut off by a Winnie the Poo on skis, while approaching a jump, and then cussing him out harshly for it… It was not very Disney.

3. 星 – 雪で鼻水をかんだこと.

4. Kyle  – Hate to say it, but I did laugh when it snowed, on May 9th in Maine, on the wedding day of this girl I knew from high school. Call me mean if you want, but she was such an unbelievable Bridezilla/bitch about her wedding, always talking about how it was going to be the best, most amazing thing and just so much better than anyone else’s had ever been. She was devastated that snowed on her wedding day. I just wish it had also snowed during her Bahamas honeymoon.
