Due to the large amount of snowfall over the last few days Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba 47 resorts have pushed forward their opening schedule to the 17th of November (tomorrow!). Today is sunny and clear with fresh snow. A perfect bluebird powder day! Hard to believe that its still mid-November… Here are some photos of Hakuba and some other Japanese ski areas taken this morning:

Snow is falling down to village level in Niseko now as I type. Its pretty early for snow to be falling down to this level so lets hope this is a sign of a great season to come!!!

Tokyo Snow Club and Tengendai Ski Resort are currently giving away five lift passes for the upcoming 2010/11 Snow Season.

Tengendai is located in Yonezawa in Yamagata prefecture and is a high altitude resort that receives above average snowfall throughout the winter season. The resort opens early during late November every year and is a great place to experience the famous Japanese powder. Another feature of the resort are the amazing snow monsters (ice covered trees) that appear all over the resort during Jan ~ March.
