Shosenkyo Gorge Spring Color Walk & Wineries

Overview

Shosenkyo is a picturesque gorge located in the Kofu region of Yamanashi prefecture. With towering cliffs & stunning waterfalls/rapids the walk through the gorge is a great way to spend the morning. We will also be riding the ropeway to the summit to take in the sweeping 360deg views of Mt Fuji and surrounding mountains. This time of year is a great time to visit as the spring colors are in full force and the sakura is blooming.

After leaving the Shosenkyo gorge, we will visit two local wineries in the Katsunuma area of Yamanashi. The surrounding mountains create a convenient geographical location that provides both stunning views and a cool, relatively dry climate that is ideal for growing grapes. We will visit at least two wineries with free tasting included at the first winery. The final winery features a huge cellar with over 170 wines available for tasting and an excellent onsen located on a mountain with sweeping panoramic views over the valley - a great way to end the day!
