S3 Naeba Ski Trip
Overview
Naeba Ski Resort offers a vast array of terrain, making it an ideal destination for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. With 24 courses and 11 lifts, the resort is perfect for beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders alike. The wide groomed slopes and steep runs provide plenty of excitement, while families and freestyle enthusiasts can enjoy terrain parks and dedicated family zones. The resort's high elevation ensures better snow quality compared to many other Yuzawa ski areas.
Naeba is linked to Kagura Ski Resort through the famous Dragondola, Japan's longest gondola. This impressive connection creates the expansive Mt. Naeba ski area, offering visitors access to two interconnected resorts.
Kagura is large and varied resort featuring 23 different lifts and two ropeways. Famous for its early season powder snow, the expansive resort has courses to suit all levels of skiier/boarder including a super long 6000m run! The resort also has some of the most beautiful and panoramic views in the region due to the incredible mountain ranges nearby as well as the several lakes that are scattered throughout.
Our trip also features optional night skiing, which is included if you add the 2nd day's lift pass during booking. Naeba has one of the best night skiing courses around, with loads of fun to be had under the lights. Naeba also features several hot springs to soak in throughout the trip.
On the Saturday night we will also host a fun after ski/board party with good tunes, party games and drinks included!
As always, the trip also includes free ski/snowboard lessons, so its ideal for beginners. Even if you are an experienced skiier or snowboarder, why not switch it up and try something new? Looking forward to the trip!

“accommodation was not far and the management was good!”
“I had an amazing time! The hotel was run by a lovely family and they even had a dog downstairs! The first day, they drove us to Kagura and picked us up later which was really convenient. There was snow if you knew where to look and follow forecasts carefully. The nice lady at the inn made sure we were well fed with delicious homemade food. Naeba is easy walking distance and on the second day they took us to a nice little onsen in town that had an outdoor bath! Would love to go back”
“1st trip of this season! Super fun!!”
“Well organized and convenient trip! Naeba is not too far from Tokyo so the ride wasn't too long or stuffy, and love that everything from food to lodging is covered. Hotel was near the resort, powder was also great. Would definitely join again.”
“Great as always, nothing to improve!”
“It was a very fun and convenient trip! Only 3 minutes' walk from the hotel to the ski resort! Naeba Ski Resort has many beginner-friendly courses, and night skiing was also available. There is a hot spring in the hotel so even tired bodies are very helpful. I'll definitely join in next year too!”
“Had a great trip! The resort in spring is decent, finding fresh snow can be tricky, but the park adds a fun alternative. As always, the staff was supportive and helpful. The party on this trip was fun, with free drinks and games making it more enjoyable. Totally recommended!”
“Relatively shorter time to the hotel from shinjuku than usual (maybe a seasonal thing). The powder and slopes where amazing. Wonderful staff. Nice food and fun activities.”
“What an unforgettable snowboarding trip! I reunited with old friends and also made some new ones. Steven and Robin were fantastic leaders. I highly recommend joining TSC's winter sports team—five stars!”
“The hotel is very close to Naeba Resort, making it super convenient. The resort itself is great, with easy access to the backcountry area. Plus, the party organized by the staff is a lot of fun, and drinks are included! Totally recommended.”
“Very well organised and lovely staff that made the trip so fun!”
“Absolutely no complaints - everything was very well arranged and KG was super helpful all along the way!”
“Haven't been on skis for 10 years before going on this trip. Highly recommend the beginner lesson, which for this trip was led by Arino. Super awesome teacher and a great human being. TSC puts on a great trip, I'll definitely be booking more!”
“We had unforgettable experience with TOKYO SNOW CLUB. We traveled as a group of four: two newbie who are ready to learn and two intermediate. Along the trip, we get to meet many other solos and end up with the Coolest Snowboard Gang Ever!!! My friend and I got in the snowboard lesson with Bunzo-an patience and friendly instructor and tour guide. He taught us the basic: from how to put on gears to technique like falling leaf and heel-toe. The lesson saves our life when one of our friends accidentally brought us beginner to an advance trail. Food is gasshoku style: like you are student going on a trip. People at the hotel is very friendly and open to help if we have problem or want to change our gear. The view of Naeba is amazing and I believe they have so many level of trail to help you thrive as beginner and intermediate. Overall was a nice beginning for my snowboard journey. I can't wait to come back.”
“It was a great trip. Everything was organised and planned. I liked the hotel and the snowboarding experience. I was a beginner and the instructor taught me to snowboard very patiently.”
“Great way to start the season.”
“Everything you need for a great trip to the mountains. The comfort of a bus ride up to & back from the mountains, a safe place to sleep, nutritious food, close to the mountains, new people to meet, and fun at night. For those that don't know how to ski, there's lessons and other activities. Make sure to bring lots of layers, as the hotel is a bit cold at night—or go to the onsen!”
“I will rate 6 stars if possible. The timing was perfect, money wise also very on point. The vibe and the energy was amazing!!! I took the free lessons and felt like some friends were trying to teach me and encourage me to skii… love it… the aprè ski was super fun and in the overall the experience is wonderful. Is amazing how the guys make you feel very confident about everything and you have zero worries… only fun in the snow! ⛄️ ❄️”
“Good organization. Schedule on-time.”

“One of my favourite areas is Kagura which can be reached after the longest gondola because the snow was really powdery. I had fun with many courses there a lot! I felt like I wanted to spend time to snowboard as much as I could. Look forward to joining again next time. I appreciate everything to TSC as they organised very well so I enjoyed and relaxed the whole this event!”
“Tashiro area (after the longest gondola in Japan from Naeba) became one of our favorites. Lots of powder snow! We enjoyed tree run/back country so much! It was hard to leave the area. Cannot wait to come back. With Tokyo Snow, we can relax and just enjoy snowboarding. Because, everything is well organized. Thank you, TSC! ”

“Tokyo Snow Club's winter trip was super fun, even though the snow wasn't perfect at the start. We rode the Kagura slopes, enjoyed awesome views, and made cool friends. The night party and relaxing onsen made the trip even better. Big shoutout to Tokyo Snow Club for making it a really awesome winter adventure!”

I particularly enjoyed the variety of runs available for all levels of experience. What made the trip even more special was the group of people I met on the trip. “Well, I have mixed feelings about this trip. The resort itself was crowded as Kagura was the only place in Niigata that had enough snow at the time. The hotel we stayed in was closer to Naeba resort slopes, which was not open yet, and the gondola between Naeba and Kagura was stopped. We had to resort to a shuttle bus, and that caused some logistics issues and additional delays. That was my first ride of the 2022-23 season and of course I was happy to get any snow no matter what. But still I feel like the trip might have benefited from chosing a hotel closer to the Kagura slopes instead of Naeba.”
“This was my first time on a Tokyo Snow Club trip and enjoyed it! Kagura was an interesting resort, and I got to make friends skiing and snowboarding. The shuttles from the hotel to the ropeway were convenient and it was good to get the lift passes beforehand, to minimize waiting. The rentals through TSC were also very easy. The hotel onsen was very nice, as was the brined apples. I enjoyed the beer pong party in the evening even though I lost :) The 30 minute rest period for dinner on the way back was quicker than I thought, and I had to rush to finish my Tonkatsu. But I now know how to prioritize next time. Overall I enjoyed it, and will attend more events in the future. ”
“Had a great powder weekend with TSC as always! Naeba was closed, so only got to experience Kagura but it was good overall. Long queues and wait times at the lift/gondola, but the snow was good. The rentals were decent too. Looking forward to the next trip!”
“Great place. Nice hotel. Fun crowd. Beer Pong. Would definitely go again.”
“Had a great time. Met some brilliant people and the snowboarding was fantastic. Would highly recommend ”
